His Bloody Project | The story of a horrific murder carried out in poverty stricken village in the Scottish Highlands in 1850(ish). The murderer gives himself up and while awaiting trial writes his story, one of poverty, struggle and persecution. | Good story, nicely constructed from the accounts of witnesses and the killers own admission of guilt. Kept thinking it might all be true, but I don't think it was. Shortlisted for Booker. | |
